Our Story

The Master:Founder & CEO Takao Suzuki:The Visionary Behind Suzuki Farm Wagyu

WechatIMG2099.jpg

In 1991, Takao Suzuki arrived in Australia with a bold vision: to revolutionize the world of Wagyu beef. Starting as a feedlot worker, he immersed himself in the grassroots of Australian beef production, gaining invaluable insights from the ground up. As Wagyu began to rise in popularity across the industry, Takao found himself at the heart of this transformation.

As a technical assistant, he became a vital link between the feedlot and producers, analyzing cattle performance and providing key feedback on carcass results. His hands-on approach gave him a profound understanding of Australian Wagyu genetics and how they could be refined to deliver unparalleled quality.

Driven by his passion and expertise, Takao decided to chart his own course. He established a Wagyu herd in the picturesque Blue Mountains, embarking on a journey that would see him combine the best of Japanese traditions with the expansive opportunities of Australia. Collaborating closely with renowned Japanese Wagyu specialists, he founded Suzuki Farm Wagyu - a cutting-edge feeding operation designed to produce Full-Blood Wagyu beef of unmatched quality.

The success of Suzuki Farm Wagyu is no accident. Under Takao’s meticulous care, the operation has grown into a state-of-the-art facility in the Central Tablelands, where each detail is perfected to ensure the cattle thrive. The result? Wagyu beef with exquisite marbling, a melt-in-your-mouth texture, and a rich, buttery flavor that has become the hallmark of world-class excellence.

Takao’s story is not just about relocating from Japan to Australia; it’s about blending the best of two cultures to create something extraordinary. Suzuki Farm Wagyu stands as a symbol of his unwavering dedication to perfection and innovation in the world of Wagyu beef.

The Wagyu

Japanese Black (KurogeWashu)

At Suzuki Farm, our commitment to quality begins with the careful selection of our cattle. Our herd is meticulously bred to maintain its 100% Full Blood Wagyu genetics. To ensure this purity, we utilize finest Japanese Black Wagyu bulls and the descendants of Fullblood Wagyu cows imported from Japan in the 1990s. Through years of careful breeding, we have developed an ideal genetic combination that thrives in the Australian environment to achieve the best quality.

Our signature bulls, including Maifuku, Mainokuni, and Maisuzu, produce consistent quality progenies, high meat yields, and finely marbled beef with a distinctive flavor - making them exceptional representatives of Australian Full-Blood Wagyu. The average carcass weight of our cattle is approximately 450-500kg.

The Shed

Surpassing the Original

At Suzuki Farm, we have designed and constructed state-of-the-art cattle sheds inspired by traditional Japanese cattle housing, specifically engineered to withstand harsh weather conditions such as heavy rain and snow.

Featuring high ceilings to facilitate optimal temperature and humidity control, our sheds are complemented by a large, Wi-Fi-controlled automated ventilation system. Semi-open side walls ensure sufficient sunlight enters while maintaining wind resistance.

In our commitment to sustainability, the roof is equipped with an extensive solar energy storage system; and an automated rainwater collection system which effectively collects rainwater and recirculates it to automatic water troughs, ensuring that our cattle have continuous access to clean water.

Within the sheds, an average of 3 to 4 cattle is allowed in each pen, minimizing competition for access to feed and allowing for a more comfortable feeding environment. The floor is lined with ultra-fine wood shavings, providing a dry, warm, and comfortable habitat for the cattle.

All these features enable our cattle to grow and mature to their full potential in a low-stress environment.
